Read MoreThe tutorial offers practical ideas, but a few adjustments could strengthen the learning experience. The early modules felt longer than they needed to be. The concepts were sound, but a more concise introduction would help maintain attention before moving into the practical work. The shoot sections were more engaging, though the filming didn’t always show the setups clearly, and the model in the first setup appeared a little uncomfortable. Understandable with a real client, but it did influence how the session came across on camera. The most significant gap for me was not seeing images as they were taken. Even brief back-of-camera previews would have helped connect the instruction to the results. Without that, it felt a bit like a cooking class where the chef explains each step but never shows the dish coming together. If showing a client’s images wasn’t possible, a demonstration model could have been used instead. This gap became particularly noticeable during the discussion on distortion at 24–35mm. Without example frames, it was hard to visualise the effect. In the final set, the lighting explanation was quite brief. Simply noting that the light was overhead could be misinterpreted by someone new to lighting. Placing the model directly under the modifier risks strong shadowing and “panda eyes,” so a quick note on angle, distance or feathering would have added clarity. Overall, the core ideas are strong, the client handling is thoughtful, and the editing demo at the end was genuinely helpful. With a tighter introduction, clearer lighting guidance and more visual demonstration throughout, this could become an excellent resource—particularly for photographers new to plus-size boudoir work.

Read MoreI was worried about using wide angle lenses but I can see how they can be used to flatter plus sized clients. I don’t agree with all of the editing tips but my biggest concern is that you are immediately flattening the files. I know this saves disc space but I would caution about doing that before the client sees and approves of the images. If the have issues, you’d have to redo the entire edit (assuming you kept an original file). If you wait, you might only have to tweak or redo a layer or two. I’m a huge fan of non-destructive editing.
